Nancy is a Board Member at Large. She is one of the original Founders of TFI (1995), and the Founder of the National Graves’ Disease Foundation, now the Graves’ Disease and Thyroid Foundation, (1990). Diagnosed with Graves’ and TED in 1987, she quickly realized the need to bring people with this disease together face to face, for peer support and accurate medical information. For the past almost 40 years, she has seen her initial vision grow from private support for a few patients whom she counseled via phone and mailed evidence-based bulletins to, to now a public service forum for thousands with access to information via websites. She enjoys speaking at conferences around the world and advocating for patients to educate, empower and encourage them.
